I am sure this is the best place with high potential to enhance your education and career goal for your future.

How did you know our Graduate School? And what kind of research do you conduct now?

Two of my professors graduated from this graduate school, Okayama university. I am quite familiar the name and information about our graduate school and our Okayama university since I was a master student at Mandalay Technological university (MTU/MIT). Currently, I am following my research in the biomolecular engineering Lab, the Graduate school of interdisciplinary Science and Engineering in health Systems. My research is related to Probes and RNA that can assist biomedical studies and can be used for biomedical applications.

Why did you decide to study at our Graduate School?

As I mentioned above, I am quite familiar with Okayama University. Moreover, I have seen all the qualities of my professors who were graduated from this graduate school, Okayama university. Obviously, I have no doubts for choosing this graduate school and Okayama University. And also, Okayama is Land of sunshine with fewer disaster in Japan. With all of this reasons, I am here at the Graduate school of interdisciplinary Science and Engineering in health Systems, Okayama University.

What were you worried about when you decided to study in Japan (at our graduate school), and what did you do then? Please tell us if there were any “good” or “better” preparations you made.

My concern is language. Unfortunately, I had no chance to join Japanese language in Myanmar because of my tight schedules and covid situation. I had a few Japanese language learning from YouTube before I come to Japan. So, I just want to give advice to prepare Japanese Language if you are thinking about your further studies in Japan.

What is the appeal of your campus life?

Campus life is very important to every student because we spend most of our time at campus more than at our home. My campus life in Okayama university is absolutely amazing with beautiful nature and kind people.

Did you experience any confusion in your life in Japan due to the changes and differences in the environment from your country? And if so, how did you solve them? Please tell us about any people or departments that helped you.

As I am come from tropical country, I had some health issues in my very first winter in Japan. But it is not really big deal for me because I got health support from Health Care Center of Okayama University. My main challenge is language. When, I come to Okayama, Japan, I just knew few words of Japanese language. It is really difficult to communicate with Japanese at outside (e.g., shopping, going to clinic, etc.). Fortunately, I joined Japanese language class that supported from Okayama University. It is really help me to communicate with Japanese. Besides, I have very supportive professors and many Japanese friends at my Laboratory. They are really kind and help me to adopt with Japanese culture and language quickly. My years in Japan is really smooth till now.

How do you think about your future career path?

I am really excited about my future career. Anyway, I am sure my future career will be amazing because I follow a career path that I am passionate about. And also, I believe that being a graduate from Okayama University also will be helpful for my future career. I will also contribute something to my society as a graduate of Okayama university in my Future.

What was the most memorable, happy, or enjoyable thing that happened to you in Japan (after you came to Okayama, on campus, etc.)? And, please tell us if there are any experiences you would like to try or places you would like to visit in Japan during your stay.

I have a lot of memories at my Lab with friends. It is really difficult to point out specifically what is it. One thing that make me always enjoy and comfort is Japanese culture and respects to nature and people. Unfortunately, I can’t travel around the japan because of Covid situation. I wish to travel all cultural cities ( e.g, Kyoto) soon.

Please give a message to those who are thinking of studying at our Graduate School.

As an international student, I would like to invite all international students to come and join our graduate school of interdisciplinary science and engineering in Health Systems and Okayama university.
