Our policy for accepting students (Admission policy)

Master’s Course

●What we are looking for

In order to achieve the Diploma Policy and Curriculum Policy, we are looking for students with the following qualities regardless of their area of expertise.

We are looking for students

・who have acquired knowledge, skills, and attitudes appropriate for a bachelor’s degree in accordance with the specialties of departments they graduated. 

・who have a strong desire to contribute to society as highly skilled human resources as envisioned in the Diploma Policy by acquiring integrated science in addition to the expertise of the undergraduate.

・who have a strong interest and motivation in not only conducting basic and applied research in their chosen research field, but also in actively incorporating research methods from different fields.

・who have a strong interest and motivation in collaborating with others, conducting interdisciplinary research beyond the boundaries of their field, and implementing their research in society in order to solve problems related to the people and systems (health systems) that make up the field of medicine.

・who have a strong interest and motivation in creating ideas that can be used in society in cooperation with the field in order to solve problems related to the people and systems (health systems) that make up the field of medicine.

●Basic Policy for Selection of Applicants

The entrance examination is held three times a year, summer, winter, and recommendation.  The applicants who passed the examination will enroll in April.  (October enrollment is available for Entrance Examination for International Students.)  In the entrance examinations, applicants with various abilities, specialties, and backgrounds are evaluated for their rich humanistic culture and expertise through written and oral examinations.

General Entrance Examination

In principle, a written examination and essay, and an oral examination and interview are required (Section of Healthcare Science: document screening, oral examination and interview only).  In the written and essay examinations, applicants are asked to answer questions about the knowledge required for the Graduate School, and their comprehension and ability to express themselves in Japanese are comprehensively evaluated.  In addition, their understanding of the specialty is evaluated through the specialized subject of the education and research field in which they wish to study.  In the oral examination of the specialized subject, faculty members in the research field the applicants wish to study, evaluate their knowledge and understanding of the specialized subject, concreteness of the research plan, degree of aspiration, expertise acquired in the undergraduate, and human credibility.

Entrance Examination by Recommendation

An oral examination and interview are required. In the oral examination and interview, faculty members in the research field the applicants wish to study, evaluate their knowledge and understanding of the specialized subject, concreteness of the research plan, degree of aspiration, expertise acquired in the undergraduate, and human credibility.

Entrance Examination for International Students

Section of Human Care Innovation requires a written examination and an essay, and an oral examination and an interview (Section of Healthcare Science: document screening, oral examination and interview only).  In the written examination and essay, applicants are asked to answer questions in English or Japanese about the knowledge required for the Graduate School, and comprehensively evaluate their comprehension and ability to express their answers. In addition, their understanding of the specialty is evaluated through the specialized subject of the education and research field in which they wish to study.  In the oral examination for the specialized subject, multiple faculty members will check the applicants’ knowledge and understanding of the specialized subject, concreteness of the research plan, degree of aspiration, expertise acquired in the undergraduate, human credibility, and cross-cultural adjustment and financial situation as a prerequisite for studying in Japan.

Doctor’s Course

●What we are looking for

In order to achieve the Diploma Policy and Curriculum Policy, we are looking for students with the following qualities regardless of their area of expertise. 

We are looking for students

・who are well-educated and highly ethical mind, with knowledge and abilities at the level of a master’s degree, and have a strong desire to contribute to the well-being of humankind by solving various problems in the people, things, and systems (health systems) that constitute the field of medicine through interdisciplinary methods.

・who can conduct not just basic and applied research in their chosen research field for solving problems in the people, things, and systems (health systems) that constitute the field of medicine, but also have a strong interest and motivation in creating ideas that can be used in society with a rich education and a high sense of ethics.

Two types of entrance examinations are conducted seven times a year to ensure that a variety of students from different backgrounds have the opportunity to enroll the graduate school.  The applicants who passed the examination will enroll either in April or October.  In the entrance examinations, applicants with various abilities, specialties, and backgrounds are evaluated for their rich humanistic culture and expertise through oral examination and document screening.

General Entrance Examination

The faculty members in the research field the applicants wish to study, evaluate their knowledge and understanding of the specialized subject, concreteness of the research plan, degree of aspiration, expertise acquired in the undergraduate, and human credibility through a document screening and oral examination. 

Overseas Selection for International Students

The faculty members in the research field the applicants wish to study, evaluate their knowledge and understanding of the specialized subject, concreteness of the research plan, degree of aspiration, expertise acquired in the undergraduate, and human credibility through a document screening.
