Formation of an interdisciplinary research center on “birth, aging, sickness, and death” with a focus on the humanities

Religious Culture

This project aims to form a research center on “birth, aging, sickness, and death,” based on research in the humanities, through the collaboration of several research projects both inside and outside Okayama University. In Japan, a society with a super-aging and declining population, various problems concerning “birth, aging, sickness, and death” have arisen. It is difficult for a single field to solve these problems, and it is essential for various fields to collaborate and integrate their achievements. For this purpose, it is important to form a “research center” where various researchers can gather and interact with each other. We aim to build a foundation for developing interdisciplinary research on “birth, aging, sickness, and death” by conducting basic activities to form a “research center” (sharing research information on new collaborators, conceiving multiple research projects, expanding research networks with overseas countries, etc.).
